Hello there! Go ahead and introduce yourself.
Hi, I’m Jeff, and I’ve been playing RPGs for around 40 + years, and sitting around with friends and playing a RPG is one of my favorite things to do.
Ahh the second Jeff, I’m thinking we do a Thunderdome scenario where two Jeffs enter, one Jeff leaves. Maybe next time. Tell us Jeff, When did you first start playing Dungeons & Dragons ?
My first game was at a church camp with the Pastor as the DM, and it went on from there. I went on to play Basic D&D for a few years before moving on to 2nd Edition. I’ve played 3rd and 3.5 D&D and totally skipped 4th Edition.
We do not speak of 4th edition. Have you play any other role playing games?
I’ve also tried 20 or more other Roleplaying Games including Shadowrun, Earthdawn, Call of Cthulhu and Paranoia. I’ve even played Vampire, but did not have enough angst in my life to be a good player.
Fair enough, that’s actually quite a lot. What would you say keeps you playing the game? Is there an aspect that you really enjoy? For instance do you prefer playing or running games?
I enjoy both being a player and a Game Master, and the aspect of the game I enjoy the most is role playing.
Ok so lets talk about books for a minute. What would you say is your favorite D&D novel ? What about your favorite D&D source book?
My favorite D&D novel is Dragons of the Autumn Twilight because it was the first D&D novel I ever got, but my favorite source book is currently Keys from the Golden Vault because I enjoy the idea of running adventures where the characters have to plan their way in to and out of situations with fighting being the last resort.
And what about your favorite creature or monster to use?
My favorite monster to throw at a low level party is a Gelatinous Cube because it’s something they have to think around, but for upper level parties, dragons are a delight when they use their cunning to make the parties react to challenges they didn’t even think of.
Well that is all the time we have for now. Thank you for chatting with us and I know we are all excited to see you at D&D camp!
