Thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Lets start simple enough. Can you tell us your name?
Samantha Chimko, though I usually go by “Sam”.
When did you start Playing D&D?
I started with 5e.
So you never had to suffer through THACO! How long have you been running games as a Dungeon Master?
I have been DMing for a little over 3 years.
What would you say is your favorite D&D book?
My favorite D&D book is the Monster Manual.
That’s interesting, do you have a favorite monster you like to use ?
Oozes, slimes, and jellies are my favorite to throw at parties.
Why is that?
They’re slow, but will chase you down like Jason Voorhees, inevitably catching up.
Nice! So if you were a D&D character, what do you think you would be ?
I’d probably be a Halfling Ranger.
And your alignment ?….wait scratch that I’m not sure I want to know! How about any D&D quotes? Do you have any favorites there?
The best quote I can think of would be “Crit Happens”.
How many sets of dice do you own?
I think I own about 30 sets of dice…
Any finally what would you say you love most about being a Dungeon Master and running a game ?
I really enjoy turning tropes on their head or pulling in character backstory. Players that like to interact with their surroundings are my favorite kind. I love when my players surprise me with their ideas. In the last campaign I ran we had a Sorcerer with very little situational awareness. He’d be the first to open doors or just stroll into a new place without looking. I think he got swallowed 3 or 4 times. One of those times was in a Remorhaz where the stomach acid killed him. His party unable to get him out. Beginning of his turn takes acid damage, so 2 failed death saves. He then rolled a Nat20 on his death save popped up to one hit point and cast —- successfully getting spit out
That is awesome. Well thank you again for your time Sam. We are all looking forward to seeing you out at site and can’t wait to start playing.
