Greetings adventurers!!
Two weeks away! While you may be excited we here at Broken Heroes Gaming Group are running around madly making sure everything is going perfektley….well crap.
Many of you have been asking about Character Creation. There will be time allotted for you to roll up and create your character on the Friday before gaming starts. We will also have class specific sheets available to any who want to use them (Free of course). However some of you have been asking if you can make up a character before you head to the camp, well the answer is …sure why not? Though there are a couple rules for the character build.
Player characters are to be created using Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition rules. Player’s Handbook ONLY. All adventurers will be starting at level 3. Any Race or class from the Players Handbook may be used. Players are given 72 attribute points to be assigned as they see fit. ALL starting ability scores MUST be within 4 points of each other, before racial modifiers. Class specific feats and abilities can be chosen from the Players Handbook only. Players receive the basic starting equipment and armor package appropriate to their chosen class as listed in the Players Handbook OR starting money which can be spent on items. No magical items can be purchased at character creation though, spoiler, there will be several scattered throughout the adventure. Hit points are rolled in the open in front of the DM and as in any game DM must approve all player characters, stats, purchases and equipment before gaming begins.
If you wish to use an online resource such as www.dndBeyond.com remember you are only allowed to pull from the Players Handbook AND you are starting at Level 3! Also don’t worry about hit points, all players will be rolling them in the open in front of your Dungeon Master!
And finally it is recommended to make a couple different characters you might like to play. You never know who you’ll be playing with or what characters they will make.
